Who Are we?

Ercse Guitar and Luthiery is a small custom shop that provides repair and setup services to our discerning customers in addition to building premium custom guitars.  We provide quality work at reasonable prices and are driven to provide the best service for our clients.  We have been servicing guitars since 2000 and building since 2002.  We currently build a small number of guitars per year and will take custom orders as our clients request.

Our Story

I started EGL because I found the guitar to be a fascinating instrument.  I began tinkering with my guitars, finding any information I could to help make them play better.

I got very good at setting up my guitars so that I put very little effort into playing them. My friends and band mates asked how I could play with the strings so low. I said it was economy of effort. The less hard I press on the strings, the longer I can play without my fingers getting sore.

After a while they began to ask me to set up their guitars. One thing led to another and I got right into the guts and learned everything I could about what makes an electric an electric. I learned everything I could about hardware, pickups, electronics and what was required to get the tone that each guitar was signature for. This was also the time that I realized that I wanted to start making my own electrics.  And EG&L was born.

Meet the Team

We want to do it right. Whether it’s setting up a guitar for a novice or pro, fixing something that’s broken, or upgrading a beloved instrument with new parts, we want to to it right so that the client is happy with their instrument.

We believe that guitars are more than just something to make music with. They are a vessel for expression of the most beautiful kind. We also see them as an art form all unto themselves. A sculpture that is able to breath life into a musical form.

June 25, 2021· In a word … Incredible!
I’ve never had such quality care and attention to detail! After playing 33 years I’ve never….EVER had a setup so perfectly done!
On top of the workmanship, this fine gentleman took time to explain WHY he’d done what he had. The knowledge alone is well worth the price of the work! I cannot wait to get my next piece and see what magic is worked on it. Would recommend to any player! Bringing my son’s LTD next big guy!
